There are plenty of opportunities to play football and practice sports in Ciudad Quesada, Rojales and in the Alicante province.
Villa Balea is located in Rojales at the Norwegian school in Ciudad Quesada. At the Norwegian school there is a muncipal multisport outdoor facility for basketball and football. This plan is open every weekday between 10-18, if you want to play later you contact the municipality to book in.
The municipality can also open the Court after hours (and put on spotlights) for groups and parties that have pre-ordered. We asked the caretaker how it looks during the day. The Norwegian school in Ciudad Quesada uses the plans until 3 pm, but then court is often fee to use for the public.
For many families it may not be so easy to get the kids from the pool area at Villa Balea, water and Wi-Fi around the pool attract the kids to stay put. As a parent I know how valuable it is to have sports facility at walking or Skateboard distance (only five minutes away from the villa) in Ciudad Quesada. A place to kick on a ball, play some street soccer, play basketball or 3×3 basketball or skateboard around the court.
Football in Ciudad Quesada and Rojales
In Rojales there are three football fields, a field with artificial grass, a pitch with sand and a grass field. The sand field is open to everyone. It seems that the artificial grass field is the one used most for local clubs when they have matches and training. If you are lucky and pass by on a match-day there is a kiosk/ small bar.
Many families today want an active holiday and are looking for activities that can suit the whole family. Playing football or going to a football game in Spain becomes extra fun for the family’s football player. But there are other things to do. Going out for a day, going to the beach or playing boule/petanque in Rojales are other nice family excursions. Try out the boule court and boule bar, located in Rojales’s sports complex.
Sports Ciudad Quesada Rojales
In Villa Balea you can stay 9 people and we work with other surrounding villas that could receive guests. One idea that has slowly but surely begun to mature is to actually organise a test trip with young people as football players. The reason is that those who run Villa Balea, the Oscarsson family, are involved in a local Swedish football club.
To combine football training with testing other sports is fun. You can try golf, bike MTB, play tennis on the municipality’s tennis courts in central Ciudad Quesada. In the villages of Rojales you can play boule or Padel tennis. You can run in el Recorral/Guardamar hills that lie between Ciudad Quesada and the beach in Guardamar.
