New Bus Routes in Ciudad Quesada

Discover Ciudad Quesada and the Costa Blanca by Bus.

Take local buses and discover local life on your next trip to Villa Balea. For many years, getting around Ciudad Quesada without a car has not been easy. There are bike rentals and as Villa Balea is close to the commercial centre is it possible to skip the rental car cost.

However, after lazy days around the pool it is time to discover locations, night life, activities and restaurants in the Vega baja area.

This is why the good news is that  new public transport connections are making it easier to explore the surrounding towns and enjoy local life on the Costa Blanca.

Whether you are staying at Villa Balea for a holiday or living in the area, these bus services are worth using and supporting.

Costa Blanca by Bus, new connections from Ciudad Quesada

1. Ciudad Quesada to the historic city of Elche and the night life of Torrevieja

For some time, a bus route has connected the main entrance of Ciudad Quesada with Elche and Torrevieja.

This offers opportunities to visit neighbouring towns, go shopping, explore local culture or connect with other transport services.

The route is particularly useful for people who do not have access to a car. For example I know that my kids, before they could rent a car, liked to take the bus to the Torrevieja night life. On their way back they have to take a taxi but at least they can do one way with the bus.

At Villa Balea, our guests for sure appreciate that they can walk approximately 800 metres to the commercial centre of Ciudad Quesada and access the bus stop at the main entrance.

Approximate fare: A journey between Ciudad Quesada and Torrevieja is reported at approximately €1–€3, depending on the service and ticket. Check the operator’s current fare before travelling.

Ciudad Quesada -Guardamar del Segura -Torrevieja

A newer Euromarina bus stop has been introduced near La Laguna Hotel. This is not an option for our Villa Balea guests as it is quite far to walk. If you however would rent a bike it is down hill from Villa Balea to the Laguna Hotel. So safe the strength for your way back.

these buses goes towards Guardamar del Segura and Torrevieja.

This is particularly useful if you want combine cycling with a bus and then a long walk on the Guardamar beach. Or perhaps you just want to look for a good restaurants by the seaside.

The precise stops, departure times and fares should be checked against the latest operator timetables.

Travelling from Alicante–Elche Airport

One of the most useful developments is the availability of bus connections between Alicante–Elche Airport and towns in the surrounding area.

Bus to Rojales

A Bus Sigüenza service connects the airport with Rojales.

  • Route: Alicante–Elche Airport – Rojales
  • Journey time: Approximately 50 minutes
  • Operator: Bus Sigüenza
  • Approximate price: €3.60 one way
  • Destination: Rojales, rather than directly to Villa Balea in Ciudad Quesada

The stop at Rojales seems to be Avenida Vega Baja. To go to Villa Balea from Rojales you need to take a taxi. There are many taxi companies but check the prices.

Important: Bus schedules and seasonal services can change. Please check the latest timetable with the operator before travelling, particularly if you are arriving with luggage or catching a flight.

Other airport connections

Alicante–Elche Airport also has bus services connecting with towns including Torrevieja, Guardamar and Almoradí.

These connections can be useful for planning journeys around the region. The fare depends on the route and operator, so please check the latest ticket prices before travelling.

Allow extra time

One practical tip when using local buses: allow some flexibility in your travel plans.

Buses may not always arrive exactly at the scheduled time. If you have an appointment, flight connection or other important plans, leave some extra time.
